Get ride of the ugly still image

The ugly one:

When I embed my map on my website, it show an ugly still image before I click on the map.
How can I change it? So it’s not zoomet in - but looks like the same map, after I click on it.

I’m keen to hear about alternatives around display of the still image. I assume it is generated to help with load once landing on the page. Is there a possibility of removing, or uploading a custom still image that will display nicely on retina?

Hi Koch and Jonti,

There definitely needs to be a static image, as loading a map tile is simply very expensive. Is the only problem that the static image is low resolution?

HD embeds should be much higher resolution for super sharp embeds, and they also feature a nice “Play” button for inviting users for interactions.
